Desert lashes is back

Reward For Effort’s Stakes Winning daughter, Desert Lashes returned with an emotional win on Saturday in the $100k Handicap at Morphettville. Replay

Desert Lashes started her career with eight straight victories including a dominant win in the Redelva Stakes before a hamstring injury curtailed a crack at Group 1 racing. Trainer Shayne Cahill produced an important training performance to have Desert Lashes winning first up on an unsuitably soft track, where back markers dominated the day. Jockey Georgina Cartwright was full of praise for the little mare, “I think there’s a lot of improvement left in her, she did knock up a little bit but she won on ability”. “She was too good for them”.

Desert Lashes was bred by Reward For Effort shareholder, Fred Borg and was sold at the 2015 Inglis VOBIS Sale. The former Alice Springs trained mare has now taken earnings to $330k.

This years edition of the VOBIS Sale commences on Sunday where 14 Reward For Effort’s are catalogued. View catalogue here.
